Laptop Purchasing Guide

Processor
Go for Intel processor
i3 vs i5 vs i7
- i3 is dual core — comes with 4thread, it calls hyperthreading, so it seems like 4 core.
- i5 comes with dual or quad-core.
- i7 comes with quad-core or 6 core.
Generation
- Always go for the latest generation which helps you in reducing power utilization. Currently, 8th generation is in the market but you can choose 7th generation as it’s less cheap than 7th generation.
- Clock Speed — It’s kind of speed for on/off the registers. Gaming requires more clock speed.
RAM
- Go for 4gb ram if you are taking i3.
- Go for 8gb ram if you are taking i5.
Hard disk
- Go for 1TB HDD if you have more storage requirement
- Else go for SDD
Screen Size
Generally 13.5 inch is good for personal use
Screen Resolution
HD — 1080x720
Full HD — 1920x1080
You can go for Full HD. but HD is also enough if you are not planning for watch good quality movies.
Graphics Card
- Mainly require for gaming or Full HD Screen resolution
If you just want to use the laptop for movies and work but no games you can go with Intel integrated graphics card.
- If you want to play very good games then go for AMD or Nvidia but make sure it should be GDDR5. Even with lesser GB higher version gives the good performance.
Operating System
- Windows 10 is better and mainly Microsoft will no longer support Windows 7 soon.
Company
Choose on basis of following criteria.
- Near Service Centre
- Lesser Weight
- Good looking.
- Fingerprint lock etc.
- More warranty. Maybe giving the extended warranty.
Dell/Lenovo is my favorite.
